Kelvin Davies and Gary Jones

Kelvin Davies already has an amazing portfolio of work behind him including several appearances on national radio over the past year. The great guitar work of this young country and blues artist really brings to life songs of the 1920s & 1930s along with an increasing number of his own compositions. Ably supported by veteran harmonica player Gary Jones. Remember… You saw him at Todd first!

Skimmington Ride

Skimmington Ride will create ‘rí-rá agus ruaille Buaille’ or uproar and hullabaloo. Upbeat traditional Celtic music at its very best. MacGowan to Drew to Behan. Kelly to MacColl to Bogle. Covers, originals and some inbetween. Their sound makes you feel happy and joyful. “They are now on my list of favourite local bands” said one kind soul! A great band to send you singing and dancing into the night. From the Dubliners to Pogues and back via the Clancys and Men They Couldn’t Hang… with some originals thrown in for good measure! Ruaille Buaille! Or a real Hurley Burley for the end of folk in the Woods!

Sons of the Session

The legendary five piece have wowed audiences all over these islands over the last thirty years both individually and collectively and now after a break of several years will be raising the tempo at this years TODD IN THE HOLE FOLK STAGE…
The band consist of Chris Sadler, Singer, Guitarist and Concertina player of many years standing with a fine baritone voice. He is comfortable with a wide range of roots music from Cajun to Irish trad and has a wealth of fine songs. He has played with Noel Hill, Alias Ron Kavana and appeared as the concertina player in the film Sweet Lavender with Judi Dench. He has also been a member of the Slip Jigolos and appeared with The Devine Family.

Multi Instrumentalist James O‘ Grady is widely regarded as one of the finest trad musicians in the country on both uillean pipes and fiddle . From a family steeped in tradition James was a prominent member of Luton/London band Sine and has also had spells with the Oyster Band and Cara Dillon amongst many other trad outfits including Gor Jus Wrex nearer to home.

Richard Herrity has also been playing music since he could toddle and as well as pipes, flutes and whistles he is an all Ireland champion on the Bodhran as well as playing full drums in a Luton indie band. He has played with Gor Jus Wrex over the past twenty years.

Dave Stacey is widely regarded as one of the best five string banjo players in the area with a wealth of experience from country and Appalachian to Irish music.

Lastly we have Brian Burke, singer, award winning songwriter, bouzouki and mandolin player who has fronted Gor Jus Wrex over the past quarter of a century. There will also be an appearance from the MARIA GRANT SCHOOL OF DANCING plus additional guests.
