The Oscar Nominated are a five piece guitar band from Hertfordshire/Essex who create hook laden, vibrant, indie rock. The band rose from the ashes – albeit twenty years later – from 90’s bands Poplark and Moses after a drunken conversation in a hotel bar between Brothers- in-law Dave Carver (guitar) and George Kaye (vocals). With Kevin Starr (drums) and Patrick Bennett (guitar) completing the line-up they set about crafting songs that move seamlessly between New Wave, rock, folk and skiffle. Powered by infectious melodies and full of sharp, observational lyrics the band are currently working on their debut album.
